Prophetic Hadiths on the Virtue of Fasting the Six Days of Shawwal

  1. Hadith of Abu Ayyub al-Ansari (may Allah be pleased with him):

    Abu Ayyub al-Ansari (may Allah be pleased with him) reported that the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) said: “Whoever fasts the month of Ramadan and then follows it with six days of Shawwal, it will be as if he fasted for a lifetime.” (Narrated by Muslim).

    This hadith illustrates the virtue of fasting the six days of Shawwal after Ramadan, as it is considered equivalent to fasting the entire year due to the multiplication of rewards, as each good deed is rewarded tenfold.
