The mosque is attributed to Sheikh Ali bin Abd al-Rahman bin Hadidi al-Hadidi al-Ansari al-Maghribi.
The mosque was endangered because of the groundwater that caused the Ministry of Awqaf to demolish the minaret in 1975, which posed a direct threat to the population, in addition to the impact of the water faucets used in disinfection on the walls of the mosque and its leakage of moisture that severely damaged its walls.
