How Muslims Protect Themself From Shaitan/Satan? | The Best Athan App for Muslims Prayer Times
In Islamic belief, there are evil spirits they are called shayatin, singular, Shaitan. They are devils or demons, the devil incites humans to sin and this is by “whispering” to the heart.
Shayatin is a separate class of invisible creatures besides the angels in Islamic tradition. Shayatin are often thought of as grotesque and ugly creatures created from hellfire. There is no difference between Iblis and Shaitan. Shaitan is usually applied to Iblis to denote his role as the tempter; on the other hand, Iblis is his proper name. Therefore, it is a must to protect ourselves from the Shaitans.
There are possible ways in order to protect ourselves from the Shaitan wickedness successfully such as:
Allah (SWT) has repeatedly reminded us in the Holy Quran of the fact that Shaitan is our chief foe, whose main objective is to spread abhorrence as well as making us unable to distinguish between the right and the wrong.
“Satan only wants to cause between you animosity and hatred through intoxicants and gambling and to avert you from the remembrance of Allah and from prayer. So will you not desist?” [Quran, 5: 91]
We, as Muslims, are advised frequently to request the Almighty for His refuge from the Shaitan in the holy Quran.
“And if an evil suggestion comes to you from Satan, then seek refuge in Allah. Indeed, He is Hearing and Knowing..” [Quran 7: 200]
